Hello and welcome!
My name is Gabrielle, and I am a psychotherapist who works with adults and adolescents 16+. While my training is generalist in nature, I have a particular focus in helping individuals overcome and heal from traumatic experiences. Trauma- whether that be acute, complex, or developmental- can significantly impact a person in a number of ways. I specialize in treating a range of problems including difficulty controlling emotions, unhealthy relationships, trust issues, self-harm, flashbacks/nightmares, shame, dissociation, anxiety, and depression. I am committed to helping my clients not only gain a sense of safety and control, but create a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
In therapy, I value fostering a space of acceptance, trust, and collaboration. I ultimately view you as the expert of your experiences, and I am here to provide connection and clinical support. My approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral theory with relational influence. However, I recognize therapy is not “one size fits all,” and therefore, tailor evidence-based interventions to meet the needs and goals of each individual. These include dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), relational therapy, and eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)– all of which are practiced under a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens.
Therapy can be an unfamiliar, and even intimidating process, so I appreciate your willingness to begin this experience with me.
