Grief is difficult.
When grief and trauma occur together, the experience can feel disorienting, isolating, and hard to put into words.
Traumatic grief often impacts not only emotions, but also a person’s sense of safety, identity, and understanding of the world. Many people find themselves struggling to make sense of their reactions, unsure how to talk about their loss, or feeling misunderstood by others.
Navigating Traumatic Grief is a 6-session psychoeducational group designed to support individuals who are coping with loss complicated by trauma. The group aims to provide education, shared understanding, and a supportive space to explore the unique challenges that arise when trauma and grief intersect.
This group is intended to feel grounding, validating, and thoughtfully structured. Grief is not rushed or minimized, and participants are not expected to share more than feels comfortable. The focus is on understanding, connection, and support.

Dr. Wyatt is a psychologist with specialized expertise in grief and loss, with particular focus on grief experiences complicated by trauma.
His clinical work is grounded in an understanding of how traumatic experiences can profoundly shape the grieving process and disrupt a person’s sense of safety, identity, and meaning.
Dr. Wyatt’s doctoral dissertation examined treatment approaches for complicated grief during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time marked by widespread loss, isolation, and disruption of traditional grieving rituals. This work deepened his commitment to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care to individuals navigating grief under complex and often overwhelming circumstances.
He completed a trauma-focused residency, where he further expanded his clinical training in working with trauma, loss, and their intersection. Dr. Wyatt brings a calm, steady presence to his work and values creating therapeutic spaces that are structured, compassionate, and attuned to each individual’s experience.
